Its hard to say so in the start. We don't even exactly know HOW he was murdered and does he have another wounds and stuff besides the blunt forced trauma and broken ribs. So I am waiting for anthropology report do clear the things up. And maybe hodgins could give us some information about particulates associated with the body. It could give us clearer view where he was murdered.
All the suspects should be checked first .. to see who had the motive to kill him and do they have an alibi at the murder time. Angela could check them out from the databases. She is such a genius at that field.
My first opinion is that they could be all proper suspects.

The family seems to be a little strange......and the lawyer has a guilty-face......lol......maybe he is just ugly though, no idea.
Anyway so far I can't say much either, we'll have to wait for the autopsy and particulates

Clue #1 An Email trace on the email Sweets was sent from Jonah goes to campaign headquarters. - yeah that tells me nothing. lol

Okay the autopsy report is interesting. We've got a 56 year old squint who's a hoarder, that's an OCD related issue, who's body is trapped underneath a book case with his head smashed in. Here's what stands out to me.

1 - He has three broken ribs (1-3) and a bruised sternum (and manubi thingy), but the nature of those injuries weren't fatal and they happened 3 to 6 hours before he was killed, suggesting he was trapped beneath the bookcase that entire time.

2 - He's got peri-mortem bruising on his right forearm, that'd be bruising that occured just prior to, or at the time of his death, right? So that's a clue that nags at me and I'll get to why in a second.

3 - He had pancreatic cancer. An adenosquamous carcinoma is a rare aggressive subtype of pancreatic cancer, amost always fatal. This is our ace in the hole IMO.

Okay, I'm thinking outloud here so someone, anyone, jump in and correct me where I'm wrong but here's the scene that this paints for me:

The bookcase falls on top of the vic and breaks three ribs plus bruises his sternum (and manubi thingy). The vic is trapped underneath it but alive for the next three to six hours. The vic is killed with two blows to the head by an object 3cm (1 inches or so) wide with a rounded end.

Now the vic was alive for three to six hours after getting trapped beneath the bookcase - when were the two blows to the head administered? The autopsy report doesnt say. The cod is subdural hematoma, but how long does that take? Was it instantaneous or did it take three to six hours? If it's the former then whoever grabbed him by the arm killed him, because the bruising on the right forearm is peri-mortem, at the time of death, but if it's the latter, if someone whacked him in the head and it took three to six hours for him to die. The first scenario paints the picture of someone pushing the bookcase over on him and then whacking him on the side of the head twice and leaving him to die. The second gives us odds that the bookcase simply fell over on him and the killer took advantage of the situation to bash his skull in.

Here's where the perimortem bruising comes in. If the killing blows were delivered at the time the bookcase fell on him thensomeone came into his appartment and saw the vic laying there unconcious, and grabbed him by the right forearm to try and pull him free. If, however, the killing blows were delivered much later, say at the same time as the perimortem buises appeared on his forearm, then the vic was conscious and probably tried to shield his head from the coming blows, the killer grabbed his arm roughly to pull it aside and smacked him twice in the melon.

One scenario gives us a witness, the other ties us into the killer.

Cam should be able to tell us how long the brain bleed took to kill him so we can clear up some of that mess. Hodgins and Angela can figure out the angle of the blows to the head and degree of force, from that we might be able to extrapolate a size/build for our attacker. Brennan can give us ideas on the type of weapon based on the damage to the bones once the intern of the week has them cleaned. Also the peri-mortem brusing, assuming it's in the form of fingers grasping the forearm, could give us an idea of the size of that person's hands, possible determination of sex or even allowing us to rule out a suspect (or rule in). We don't know if they're the killer or a witness, but we need to know. And the degree of bruising should tell us if it's consistent with someone trying to pull him free of just someone grabbing him roughly, possibly to pull his arm aside so they could deliver the killing blow(s).

The kicker here, and our ace in the hole as I see it, is the pancreatic cancer. Odds are whoever killed him didn't know he had it, and that particular cancer is highly aggressive. Why kill the vic when they could wait three months and he'd die of natural causes?

Anyway that's my initial pass on the autopsy report - I know I'm missing something folks, tell me what I'm not seeing.

RM

Those are very good points though, even if it's just an initial read. I don't know that I have anything beneficial to add at this point, just that we'll have to see. When were those blows to the head administered? And the cancer is interesting to me as well. Why not just wait it out? We'll have to wait for more information to get a better idea.

I just looked over the autopsy report and I must state the same things as Robert wrote. As more - the one who identified the body - was Lilly! Its strange. I would like to know why she was in there at the first place and what did she wanted from Jonah.
And also the clue gives us that the trace on the e-mail goes back to the campain headquarters. The only one who was campaining at the time was Jonah brother Charles. Now I am pointing at the Charles and Lilly. Altough we need more traces and clues. Hmm... Its very interesting case.
